We used to drink in a pub on Finchley Road used by the owner of the Rolls Royce showroom there.
One night kids broke in and let the handbrake off one of the cars and pushed it out through a plate glass window onto the street. A funny spectacle the next day and the talk of the pub. The owner told us, if you want to drive his cars you can borrow one. I took him up on this and said I'll have one to drive up to my Mum's for Xmas. He kept his word even giving me his chauffeuer, Nobody drove through his windows again.
