This typically insightful post is particularly close to my heart.
I’ve long felt the film of ‘Judgment at Nuremberg’ – which is far removed from the shallow schmaltz of US films about the Nazis’ crimes ever since – should be mandatory viewing for teenage students.
‘Nuremberg’ indicts humanity, and does so pretty much singlehandedly; as few other works dare to do.
Its author Abby Mann understood Disney’s sentiment deeply.
(Indeed, Mann happened to later create ‘Kojak’ in the process of dramatizing a notorious injustice.)
