I was privately educated and my daughters are presently and yes I agree that when they are on the sports fields playing the local state school it is very evident that where the opposition sometimes lack in skill that make up for it in determination and frankly brute force!
difficult balance isn’t it? civility, sportsmanship v’s just bldy winning.
The latter is the best result-of course!
Orwell said “sport is war minus the shooting” then again he was an Etonian!
